Spider-Man No Way Home: Post-credits scenes explained

Tom Holland has returned as Spider-Man for No Way Home (Picture: Sony)

WARNING: Major spoilers for the Spider-Man: No Way Home post-credits scenes ahead.

Spider-Man: No Way Home is officially upon us!

Tom Holland returns as Peter Parker for a film that’s filled to the brim with comebacks, surprises and reveals and, in true Marvel fashion, that doesn’t stop after the credits have rolled.

In fact, there are two more surprises waiting for fans at the end of the film in the form of mid-credits and post-credits scenes.

This is your final spoiler warning if you haven’t seen it!

The mid-credits scene

Following on from the Venom: Let There Be Carnage end-credits scene, which saw Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy) transported to the MCU, he rocks up in a bar.

He’s seen speaking with Venom, his alien symbiote second personality about Thanos and the events of Avengers: Endgame, or ‘the alien who loves stones’.

Towards the end of the scene, he’s seen deciding that he should pay Spider-Man a visit, before we see a small droplet of the Venom symbiote left behind at the bar.

So what does it mean? Presumably, Venom and Eddie are going to make Peter’s acquaintance in the next Spider-Man film.

With Tom’s contract recently being renewed, and producer Amy Pascal saying we could have as many as three new Spider-Man films on their way in years to come, it’s safe to say we haven’t seen the last of Peter’s adventures.

The end-credits scene

‘Doctor Strange will return’ (Picture: Disney/Marvel)

In a move away from tradition, Marvel fans were treated to a whole trailer at the end of Spider-Man: No Way Home, as we got our first look at Doctor Strange In The Multiverse of Madness.

Some crucial reveals were made here – firstly, that Wanda Maximoff (Elizabeth Olsen) is set to play a big role in the film folllowing her reveal as Scarlet Witch in WandaVision.

Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) is seen paying her a visit as he asks her about the multiverse.

Some old favourites including Wong (Benedict Wong) return, while the end of the trailer shows the appearance of Strange’s villainous variant, Strange Supreme.

The sorcerer is told: ‘I’m sorry Stephen, I hoped you’d understand the greatest threat to our universe is you,’ before he comes face to face with his sinister variant.

Strange Supreme tells him: ‘Things just got out of hand…’ before the final shot promises: ‘Doctor Strange will return.’
