Disney Plus subscribers in the UK are in for a treat this week with the release of Pixar movie Onward on to the streaming platform.

The movie was released in the UK in early March, meaning it had barely been on screens for a few weeks before cinemas closed and the country went into lockdown – so you might well have missed out on the chance to see it at the flicks.

It was subsequently released on digital platforms in May as well as on Blu-Ray and DVD in June – but is only now making it to Disney Plus.

When can you expect it though, and what time will it be released?

What time does Onward drop on Disney Plus?

Onward is released on Disney Plus tomorrow, Friday October 2.

Although there’s no official set time for the release, new content normally drops on to the platform at around 8am UK time – which is 12am PT in the US.

If you don’t yet have Disney Plus but you want to subscribe, you can either pay £59.99 for a year’s subscription, or £5.99 per month.

The service previously offered a seven-day free trial when it launched in March, but this is no longer available.

Onward tells the fantastical story of two teenage elves, brothers Ian and Barley Lightfoot.

The pair emerge from a modern suburban world where technology has overtaken magic, but are desperate to spend one last day with their father – who died before they could remember him.

They subsequently head off on an adventure to find one last piece of magic and make their dream into a reality.

The film also features an impressive voice cast, with Tom Holland, Chris Pratt, Octavia Spender and Julia-Louis Dreyfus among those voicing the characters.
