Amanda Holden has announced the release of her debut album and warns that it’ll be an ‘emotional’ listen.
The Britain’s Got Talent judge will release Songs From My Heart on October 2 and will lead the album with her debut single, With You.
Sharing the exciting news, Amanda said: ‘People think they know who I am because they see me being loud and outrageous on the television or radio.
‘That is a part of me but really I’m all about my family. This album is all the songs I’ve loved in my life sung for the people who mean the most to me. It’s a very emotional album that everyone can relate to.
‘I had a tape recorder as a little girl and would sing into it dreaming of this moment.’
She added: ‘There is a story behind every song on the album celebrating life, love and loss – the darkest and happiest moments in my life so far. It is literally my heart laid bare.’
With You is inspired by Amanda’s heartbreak after the death of her son Theo, who was born stillborn in 2011.
The album will also feature a guest appearance from Cilla actress and musical theatre pro Sheridan Smith so basically, prepare to sing your heart out.
Another song on the record, When She Loved Me, relates to Amanda’s teenage daughter, Lexi, and how she’s evolving and changing right before her eyes.
Amanda’s music career hit the ground running in May when she released a cover of Somewhere Over The Rainbow to raise money for the NHS during the coronavirus pandemic.
The TV star previously opened up about starting a music career at the age of 49 and told Metro.co.uk: ‘I feel incredible. I feel like somebody on Britain’s Got Talent, where they come on and you say to them, “this is your moment and it’s about now”. I feel like a contestant, it just shows that the appetite for songs is not about youth necessarily.
‘It’s not about young, good looking boy bands anymore. It’s about what people are wanting to find and listen to.’
Amanda Holden’s debut album Songs From My Heart is set for release on October 2, while With You is out now.
