One of the members of BlackPink, during a performance on Sunday night, left the stage and failed to return.
During an event in Melbourne, Australia, this sudden departure from the stage by a member of the female K-pop ensemble initiated in 2016 stunned spectators.
The band from South Korea garnered global recognition with their breakout album The Album, boasting a recent number one hit in Australia.
Currently on a global tour, the team behind the successful song How You Like That is expected to perform in the UK on July 2, as part of the British Summer Time event at Hyde Park.
The band’s singer and rapper Jennie Kim, 27, ended her stage presence after five songs, the rest of the performance was carried on by the other three members.
The remaining trio, consisting of Lisa Manobal, 26, Kim Jisoo, 28, and Rose Park, 26, completed the two-hour gig sans Jennie, who allegedly had to leave due to illness.

Clips of the happening were circulated on various social platforms, where Rose made an announcement to the audience, saying: ‘It seems that we will be proceeding with the rest of the show without Jennie.’
Rose added, ‘However, we will try our best to fill the stage up for you guys and give you the best night so don’t worry about that.’
Afterwards, she mentioned that their hearts would be with Jennie while the Australian crowd spontaneously started cheering Jennie’s name.
Post-show, it was revealed that Jennie had been absent from the soundcheck earlier in the day due to rest.
The band’s management issued an apology for the unexpected interruption: ‘We would like to extend our sincerest apologies to all the fans who [supported] BlackPink and attended the event.’
Subsequently, it was disclosed that Jennie intended to return to the stage, but the venue staff advised her otherwise, asking her to rest.
BlackPink is set to create history as the first K-pop act to headline a major UK festival, performing alongside Bruce Springsteen at Hyde Park.
