BTS have made history by achieving the first Korean language number one on the Billboard Hot 100.

After getting their first US number one single with Dynamite earlier this year, the K-pop kings have gone even further and managed to get the lead single from their album BE, Life Goes On, to the top on the Billboard Hot 100.

Not only that, but RM, Jin, Jungkook, Suga, J-Hope, V and Jimin have joined Taylor Swift as the only artists to debut a song and an album at number one on each ranking in the same week.

BE debuted at number one atop the Billboard 200 with 242,000 equivalent album units, while Life Goes On racked up 14.9 million US streams.

Pretty impressive for a non-English language track that received little radio play, no?

BTS also broke their own record of their most simultaneous placements on the chart, with seven songs from BE – Life Goes On, Dynamite, Blue & Grey, Stay, Fly To My Room, Telepathy and Dis-ease – on the Hot 100.

The first four broke the top 40, and the only ‘song’ from the album not to chart is Skit, which is not even a song, and a speaking interlude from the boys.

BTS celebrated their multiple feats pretty aptly, joining together as a group to scream at a mirror.

Suga, who has been recovering from shoulder surgery, made sure to reunite with his bandmates for the moment, and ARMYs were in their feelings to see the band as a seven-piece again.

Life Goes On reaching number one tops off a crazy few weeks for BTS, after they received their first Grammy nomination.

The stars are nominated for best pop performance by a duo/group for their earworm Dynamite, making them the first K-pop artists to be nominated at the awards.

Speaking on The Late Late Show with James Corden, RM said: ‘We’re truly honoured and we know it’s a huge step and a milestone, not only for us but for the music industry.

‘It makes us even happier to know how proud our fans must be right now, and it feels like our hard work has finally kind of paid off.’
