Sometimes the world seems dismal and miserable, and then a baby crowd surfs at a Flo Rida concert.
The 43-year-old Low hitmaker was playing at the CelebrateErie event in Erie, Philadelphia, this week when he was joined on stage by an unexpected guest.
On stage, we mean on the tops of supporters’ shoulders, because he was crowd surfing while playing.
And by unexpected visitor, we mean a little infant who appeared to be under a year old.
Flo plays hit single GDFR while crowd surfing in a video shot by festival attendees, before laughs and grabs for something off camera.
Suddenly, a months-old infant appears in the frame, being delicately carried around the crowd in the most benign kind of crowd surfing imaginable.
The infant finds its way to rapper Flo, who scoops up the youngster and cradles them while completing his act.
At one point, the rapper places the microphone in front of the child’s lips, humorously pushing them to sing along.
Not only that, but another video recorded later in the concert shows Flo returning to the stage, still carrying the baby.
To cap off one of the most bizarre things you’ve ever seen at a performance, Flo lifts the infant into the air in Lion King fashion, while the audience goes wild.
Naturally, the video has gone popular online, with everyone commenting on the strange circumstance.
One Twitter user voiced mock outrage about the situation, writing: ‘How do they know the baby is a Flo Rida fan, this is unfair.’
‘This will be the coolest documented memory of this person’s life,’ another said.
Others voiced genuine concern that the child wasn’t wearing ear protectors and that ‘so many things could go wrong in such a big crowd.’
As one person put it, ‘It seems like fun, but it’s harmful for the baby.’
We surely don’t hope that crowd surfing your infant to the artist becomes a new concert craze – hurling missiles at the shows was risky enough.
