Baywatch legend David Hasselhoff has taken an unexpected turn and appeared in a music video for new metal song, Through the Night.
So… there is a headline we didn’t expect to be writing towards the end of 2020.
Yes, it’s true. Baywatch star David Hasselhoff has released a metal song. And even wilder… it’s actually pretty decent.
The song is a collaboration between The Hoff and Austrian duo act, CueStack. The video is a neon-synthwave ride through the almost operatic delivery of Hasselhoff’s singing. He really seems to be going for it and it more or less pays off in the performance.
CueStack explained the unlikely pairing, saying: ‘This is the Baywatch and Knight Rider star’s very first metal performance!
‘The collaboration started in 2018 and the ultimate goal was to create a metal project with the most-watched man on TV, showing the world his heavy side.’
The duo and Hasselhoff recorded the track back in 2019 in Vienna. While putting the song together, the band also shot the bizarre, but satisfying music video too.
The song is being released on the Through the Night EP.
The release features a retro remix of the song, put together by Caleb Shomo, the frontman for band Beartooth and there is even an acoustic remix included too.
Hasselhoff has been on streak of unusual but interesting projects. Just last year, he took part in Dolly Parton’s hit musical 9 to 5. If this is the calibre we can expect from the Hoff going forward, we are all for it.
