Fleetwood Mac are seeing a resurgence of their classic song Dreams, which is climbing the charts thanks to a TikTok video going viral.
It’s all down to one man – TikTok user @420doggface208, real name Nathan Apodaca – who shared a video of himself gliding along a road on a skateboard while sipping cranberry juice and mouthing the lyrics to Dreams.
His uber chilled vibe caught on and was even shared on the official Fleetwood Mac Twitter account and social media at large, likely introducing Dreams to a whole new audience.
The video itself has been viewed over 16 million times in less than a week and is currently climbing Spotify music charts around the world.
In the UK, Dreams has shot up to number 136 and was streamed 390,728 times in the past week.
But it’s completely taken off in Australia where it sits at number 46 on the Spotify chart after jumping from number 54 in just one day.
In New Zealand, it climbed from number 50 to 32.
Reacting to the impact of his video, Nathan – who also calls himself Vibe King – said in a follow-up TikTok: ‘After I did that video, as you guys know the s**t went viral – holy sheep s**t.
‘I just want to say thank you from the bottom of my heart from DoggFace, me and my family, to all you guys. No words that come to mind … just overnight sh*t’s been crazy.’
He added: ‘Thank you all for the donations, thank you all for the comments, thank you all for the gifts. I just appreciate everybody.’
Dreams was first released in 1977 and earned Fleetwood Mac their first number one single on the US’ Billboard Hot 100 chart. It featured on the band’s album Rumours, which became their first number one in the UK.
The ethereal bop isn’t the only song to reap the benefits of TikTok exposure in recent months.
Megan Thee Stallion landed her biggest hit yet – pre-WAP – with her track Savage, which became a TikTok dance challenge attempted by celebrities worldwide.
Jason Derulo recently scored a summer hit with his song Savage Love, featuring Jawsh 685, which claimed the UK number one for three consecutive weeks.
