Halsey has thanked fans for their support after adding she/they pronouns to their profile on social media.
The pregnant singer, 26, subtly updated their Instagram page with their preferred pronouns on Saturday and was flooded with love and words of encouragement.
Taking to Instagram Stories, Halsey simply wrote: ‘thank you’ (sic) alongside a red heart emoji.
The Grammy-nominated artist proudly shared that they identify as a woman and also non-binary, a term used to describe people who feel their gender cannot be defined within the margins of the gender binary.
‘Proud of @halsey for being honest about who they are with their pronouns,’ one fan enthused. ‘I’m glad they feel comfortable enough with their fandom to do so.’
Echoing a similar sentiment, another penned: ‘Omg I just noticed your pronoun changes @halsey. So proud of you.’
Halsey is expecting their first child with partner Alev Aydin, after previously suffering multiple miscarriages and getting surgery to treat endometriosis.
After recently sharing a shot of their ultrasound, they recently gave fans an update on how they and the bump are doing.
Posting a mirror selfie of them pulling up their shirt to display their ever-growing baby bump, they simply wrote: ‘henlo :)’
Halsey tagged their screenwriter boyfriend Alev, who then shared the announcement post on his Instagram Stories.
He added: ‘Heart so full. I love you, sweetness.’
Halsey and Alev have kept their relationship fairly private, but were spotted out and about together at the end of 2020.
However, fans had not been aware of the pair’s romantic relationship as the duo had been friends for several years.
