Justin Bieber postpones remaining US Justice tour dates amid facial paralysis but is ‘upbeat about recovery’

Justin Bieber has been forced to postpone the remaining US dates of his Justice World Tour amid his ongoing recovery from facial paralysis.

A statement was released via the tour’s official Instagram account, which said that while the upcoming shows in June and July would not be going ahead as planned, Justin is ‘upbeat’ about his recovery from Ramsay Hunt syndrome.

It confirmed: ‘In light of Justin’s ongoing recovery, the remaining US Justice tour shows scheduled for June and early July will be postponed.

‘Justin continues to receive the best medical care possible, is upbeat about his recovery, and is looking forward to getting back out on the road and performing for his fans overseas later this summer.’

The new dates are yet to be revealed and fans were told their tickets would remain valid or they were able to apply for a refund if necessary.

The Instagram account added: ‘With a heavy heart, it saddens us to make this announcement about the #justicetour.

‘We are sending you lots of love and prayers for a speedy recovery we are always here cheering you on @justinbieber.’

A week earlier, Justin had taken to Instagram to share a video showing the effects of his facial paralysis, which was caused by a virus.

He revealed he was suffering from Ramsay Hunt syndrome, explaining: ‘Obviously as you can probably see with my face, I have this syndrome called Ramsay Hunt syndrome.

‘It is from this virus that attacks the nerves in my ear and my facial nerves and has caused my face to have paralysis.’

He added: ‘So for those who are frustrated by my cancellations of the next shows, I’m just physically obviously not capable of doing them. This is pretty serious, as you can see, I wish this wasn’t the case.

‘But obviously my body is telling me I’ve got to slow down and I hope you guys understand.’

Justin had earlier revealed that the upcoming shows on his 130-date tour would be cancelled due to a ‘non-Covid related illness.’

He had also asked fans to pray for his recovery and wife Hailey Baldwin shared an update on his condition on Wednesday, adding on Good Morning America: ‘He is doing really well. He is getting better every single day. He is feeling a lot better.

‘Obviously, it was just a very scary and random situation to happen, but he is going to be totally okay and I am just grateful that he is fine.

‘The support has been really amazing just from fans, friends, family. Every single person has sent well wishes, advice, recommendations. It’s actually been really amazing.’
