Members of 311, Beastie Boys & More Rock Public Enemy’s ‘She Watch Channel Zero’

The self-proclaimed Kings of Quarantine have shared their cover of Public Enemy’s “She Watch Channel Zero.”

Started in October 2020 by Canadian metal band Slaves on Dope, the group has been recruiting members from iconic rock and hip-hop groups to collaborate on covers, which they have been posting to their YouTube channel.

Their latest quarantine-style cover is of “She Watched Channel Zero,” featuring members from Faith No More, Beastie Boys, 311, 3rd Bass, Sepultura, Cypress Hill, and H20. Artist Ron English also provided the song’s intro — “You’re blind, baby/ You’re blind from the facts on who you are ’cause you’re watchin’ all that garbage” — which was originally dropped by Flavor Flav.

The videos — in collaboration with the Roadie Relief effort — are helping to raise awareness for touring industry workers whose jobs may have been impacted by the ongoing global coronavirus pandemic. With help from Limp Bizkit, Anthrax and Run DMC and many others, the makeshift supergroup have previously covered “Mountain Song” by Jane’s Addiction and “We Care a Lot” by Faith No More.

Slaves on Dope released their debut album Inches From the Mainline in 2000. The band went on a hiatus from 2004 before returning in 2009. Since then, they have released a handful of albums and EPs.

“She Watch Channel Zero” was released in 1988 and appears on Public Enemy’s sophomore album, It Takes a Nation of Millions to Hold Us Back.
