Miley Cyrus and Dua Lipa accused of stealing Prisoner video concept from band Dream Wife

Miley and Dua dropped their video this week

Miley Cyrus and Dua Lipa have been accused of stealing a video concept from punk band Dream Wife.

The video for Prisoners by Miley Cyrus and Dua Lipa has already garnered over 8 million views on YouTube in just a day.

The raunchy video already has many talking, but it has also drawn comparisons to another video, which came out back in May.

Dream Wife’s music video So When You Gonna… is shot from inside the mouth of a person on a night out at a gig. This same conceit also features in the video for Prisoners, which, in several small parts, feature the same ‘in mouth’ camera.

The London-based punk band called out the pop duo’s use of the gimmick on Instagram.

In a post, the band shared a picture from both videos showcasing the similarities. In it, both music acts are seen performing from the point of view of inside a mouth.

They added: ‘Thought the new Miley vid looked familiar… those pearly white LA teeth needs some grit tho. Rofl.’

This is not the first time that Cyrus has been accused of nicking the idea from somewhere else.

Last year, Cyrus was accused of stealing a cake design from Becca Rea-Holloway. The image featured a cake saying ‘abortion is healthcare’.

As of writing, neither Cyrus nor Dua Lipa has acknowledged the similarities between their video and Dream Wife.
