Nobody enjoyed Dave’s Coachella performance more than Stormzy who had a blast rapping in the crowd

Stormzy popped up during the first weekend of Coachella 2022 and nobody enjoyed Dave’s performance more than him.

The Vossi Bop rapper isn’t on the line-up for this year’s music festival, which takes place in Indio, California, but he did make a low-key appearance to represent this side of the pond with other Brits, including Apple Music’s Beats 1 presenter Dotty and online personality Zeze Millz.

On Sunday, Dotty shared an Instagram photo of her posing with a group, including Stormzy, at the festival, and captioned the sun-kissed snap: ‘Brits Abroad 🌴 #Coachella.’

Zeze later shared clips to her Instagram stories of the 28-year-old rapper moshing out hard in the crowd during Dave’s performance, wearing a pair of white heart-shaped sunglasses.

Surprisingly, Stormzy didn’t join Dave on stage when the rapper performed their hit 2021 collaboration Clash, and instead humbly chose to rap along with friends in the crowd.

Proving to be the most supportive friend, Stormzy continued to rap along passionately when Dave performed his 2018 single Funky Friday, featuring Fredo.

Dave’s set has since gone viral after the Brit award-winning rapper invited a superfan to join him on-stage for his hit track Thiago Silva.

Reminiscent of Alex at Glastonbury, ‘Spike from London’ expertly rapped the tongue-twisting rap verse and it later emerged that he is actually the 18-year-old son of Love Actually and Notting Hill director Richard Curtis and broadcaster Emma Freud.

As for Stormzy, it’s no surprise he’s taking a break from performing having just wrapped up his mammoth world tour, which included a string of dates across the UK.

His Heavy Is The Head tour was postponed from 2020 due to the Covid pandemic, but he was finally able to entertain the masses with tracks from his chart-topping 2019 album.

Stormzy recently confirmed that he’ll be releasing a new album later this year, telling the audience at his show in Cardiff: ‘This is the album of my dreams. This album is deeper than man could ever imagine. I’m free.’

The first weekend of Coachella 2022 concluded last night with The Weeknd and Swedish House Mafia headlining, and will resume again this coming weekend with headline sets from Billie Eilish and Harry Styles.
