Pink debuts new song Cover Me In Sunshine with daughter Willow after ‘terrifying and angsty’ year

Pink has teamed up with daughter Willow for a new song which she hopes will be ‘a hug and a kiss’ from her to her fans.

The nine-year-old, who Pink shares with husband Carey Hart, sings alongside her mother on the track Cover Me In Sunshine.

Explaining the inspiration behind it, the singer said they released it ‘for no other reason than that we hope the song makes you feel happy’.

The Just Like A Pill singer, who also shares four-year-old son Jameson with Carey, posted on Instagram: ‘We all know this year has been different and challenging and at times terrifying and tumultuous and angsty and all the things, and I personally find comfort in music, I find comfort in song.

‘I love singing with my daughter and my son. It’s a little different when he does it though. I think he’s gonna be in a metal band.

‘But we have this song called Cover Me In Sunshine , it made us feel happy and so we’re gonna put it out for no other reason than that we hope that the song makes you feel happy.

‘Thought we’d put it out around Valentine’s Day as a big old hug and a kiss from us to all y’all.’

The upbeat single includes the lyrics: ‘Cover me in sunshine/Cover me good times/Tell me that the world’s been spinning since the beginning and everything will be alright’.

Willow has shown off her vocal skills in the past, singing for her mum when she launched a TikTok account.

In Pink’s first video she put the spotlight on her daughter who sang a bit of Cover Me In Sunshine.

She also sang during The Disney Holiday Singalong last year performing a duet with Pink on The Christmas Song by Nat King Cole.
