Regardless of what the latest Dionne Warwick Talk Show skit on Saturday Night Live said: No, Dionne Warwick will not be egging Wendy Williams’ house.
On Saturday, the recurring SNL skit emphasized Warwick’s persistent desire to get into it with Williams, from “Dionne” (Ego Nwodim) asking Nick Jonas to have him and the rest of the Jonas Brothers fight her rival talk-show host to getting Dua Lipa (Melissa Villaseñor) onboard with her plan to egg the host’s house.
But rest assured, the real Dionne Warwick had no such thing in mind. “No, I will not be egging @WendyWilliams house,” the Queen of Twitter reassured her nearly half a million followers on Sunday (Feb. 28). “It is cold outside.”
But she does have something else in mind, suggesting that the NBC series should “kick this up a notch.” The 80-year-old multi-platinum singer addressed the show in a short “My Response to SNL & I’m Calling Out Wendy Williams, Let’s Talk!” clip on her YouTube channel, where she will be launching her very own talk show, Dionne Speaks. And you’ve probably already guessed who she wants the first guest to be.
“Thank you for the wonderful skit you did last night. I had a ball laughing,” she said, grinning from ear to ear. “And I want you to know you guys must be reading my mind because I’m getting ready to do my own talk show. And I’d love for my very first guest to be — mmhm, you guessed it — Ms. Wendy Williams. Now you do know that I do not bite my tongue. And I do have a few things I want to discuss with Ms. Wendy Williams on Dionne Speaks.”
The two started beefing on Twitter last December, when Williams criticized Warwick’s legendary tweets on her own talk show and brought up her 2002 marijuana charge, which Warwick told Billboard at the time that someone had planted inside her bag.
