Taylor Swift shares love for Katy Perry’s ‘genius’ music video starring Zooey Deschanel

Taylor Swift has made sure her and Katy Perry’s feud is far in the past, as she celebrated the Smile singer’s new music video, dubbing it ‘genius’.

Katy, 36, released her new music video for Not The End Of The World, starring Zooey Deschanel.

Clearly obsessed with the new release, Taylor, who has recently been smashing chart records, responded to Katy’s tweet with a gif of Zooey cheering and added: ‘THIS IS GENIUS’.

While Taylor, 31, and Katy were embroiled in a feud for years, the pair settled their differences in 2018, with the Daisies singer sending the Exile hitmaker a literal olive branch.

They have since been incredibly supportive of each other, with Taylor even hand-embroidering a blanket for Katy’s daughter Daisy earlier this year.

Meanwhile, Taylor certainly isn’t wrong about Katy’s music video, which sees Zooey being mistaken for the singer by some alien superfans as they attempt to save her from the end of the world – as you do.

The actress is seen dressing up as Katy to play along, before eventually saving Earth.

Fans are obsessed with Zooey’s role in the video, especially considering the frequent comparisons between the pair.

In fact, Katy recently apologised to the New Girl star, admitting she used to pose as her to get into clubs.

‘I have to admit something, Zooey,’ Katy said during an Instagram Live. ‘When I came to LA, I was pretty much a nobody, and you were just getting so huge at that time — it was like Zooey Deschanel ran the world…In that moment, I was so complimented to look like you.’

She added: ‘But I have to admit something to you on a Live: That when I first got to LA, I went to the club a lot.

‘And I wanted to get into the club and I had no money, and I had no clout, I had nothing, and sometimes I would pose as you to get into the club.’

However, it turns out Zooey knew what was going on all along – and she’s not even fazed.

‘People would be like, “I saw you!”‘ she responded. ‘But I’m such a Goody Two-shoes and people kept going, “I saw you out! I made eye contact with you!” And I was like, “No!” And then everybody kept telling me about this girl “Katy, Katy, who looks just like you,” and I’m like, “Who is this Katy?”

‘And then when I met you, I was so relieved because you’re so pretty and I was like, “Oh, thank God. She’s so pretty,”‘ Zooey added. ‘You never know when people say you look like somebody what they’re gonna look like and I was like, “Oh my gosh, she’s gorgeous. Thank you.”‘
