Ready for your first post-lockdown trip? (Picture: Metro.co.uk)

As the weather heats and up and summer gets closer, we’re all dreaming of all the glorious things we’re going to do post-lockdown, right?

Okay, it might not be 100% clear what we’re going to be allowed to do yet, but there are still some things that you can definitely start thinking about.

Here in the UK, get ready for a summer of fun as comic books come to life at Kew Gardens and the Hippodrome Circus reopens its doors in Great Yarmouth.

In other news, antigen testing for your foreign future foreign hols just got simpler, and Tenerife was recently awarded a special seal of approval by marine life.

Rapid Covid testing

My Celebrity Life –
A negative test means you are fit to fly

As it looks like Covid tests will still be part of the travel landscape when we’re allowed abroad again, some good news from BA, which has partnered with government-approved testing providers Qured to offer BA customers rapid antigen test kits for just £33.

These can be ordered before your trip so you can take the test before your return to the UK – perfect if you’re unsure where to get one in your foreign destination.

All you need to do is book a brief online session with a health adviser, who will talk you through how to use it, and you’ll have your results within 20 minutes, which will provide a ‘fit to fly’ certificate if it’s negative.

Great Yarmouth Hippodrome Circus

My Celebrity Life –
Are you afraid of heights?

Great Yarmouth will be rolling out the red carpet to visitors with a host of new attractions. Biggest and best will be a 50m-high, London Eye-style wheel with 36 pods.

In addition, the Hippodrome circus will be putting on three new live shows, starting with its Summer Spectacular.

Expect trapeze aerialists, acrobatics, daring stunts and comedy, as well as an aquatic acrobatic showstopper performed on the central stage that transforms into a giant swimming pool.

From £25pp, hippodromecircus.co.uk, great-yarmouth.co.uk.

Dennis the Menace is back

Kew’s planned some proper mischief for April (Picture: DC Thomson Ltd)

This’ll make some of us feel old: classic kids’ comic Dennis the Menace turns 70 this year.

To celebrate, Kew Gardens in west London is holding a series of fun Dennis And Gnasher Big Bonanza events, including a giant, 3D comic strip with characters from the Beano comic and the chance to help Dennis and Minnie the Minx save their favourite food, the banana, from extinction by Dr Gloom.

Also meet RBG Kew staff Lee (‘the fun guy who loves fungi’) and Katie (‘the tree-swinging horti-hero’), who’ll show you nature’s cleverest tricks in the plant kingdom.

From March 31 to April 18, children from £5, adults £15, kew.org.

Tenerife’s Whale Heritage Site

Have a whale of a time in Tenerife (Picture: Francis Perez)

Tenerife has just become Europe’s first Whale Heritage Site. Its west coast has been declared a Unesco World Heritage site for cetacean – that’s marine mammals including whales, dolphins and porpoises – conservation.

It’ll encourage the responsible observation of the area’s dolphins and whales, turning the coastal strip between Tenerife and La Gomera into a sanctuary for them.

Throughout the year, 26 cetacean species pass through the Canary Islands and can be spotted just off the coast, thanks to the water depth and mild climate. It’s a must-do on your next visit.
