Arrested Development may be giving The Simpsons a run for their money by forecasting testicles on the news 20 years in advance.
RCG Media in Mexico made a huge mistake last week when it showed what it thought was footage from the solar eclipse but was actually a prankster’s genitalia.
A similar scenario occurred in Arrested Development’s Sad Sack episode in 2004, when news stations broadcast a photo of Tobias Fünke’s (David Cross) testicles.
Journalists had assumed that the photograph, shot by Tobias while in the bath, was of the Iraqi countryside and therefore confirmation that his family’s business, the Bluth Company, had been building homes in the nation.
Several fans on X pointed out that Arrested Development season 2 episode 5 predicted the humorous blunder on Mexican TV.
Fiona Small commented: ‘This was a storyline on Arrested Development.
Simon Tam added: ‘According to TMZ, a Mexican news station accidentally aired testicles instead of the solar eclipse so of course I thought of when Arrested Development had something similar.’
RCG Media saw the funny side of the mistake and on social media in a post translated from Spanish wrote ‘How did you see the #eclipse? Ours was….’ and they then shared two egg emojis.’
Before the next video begins, three RCG anchors discuss the eclipse and see spectacular footage brought in by a fan in Arizona.
The anchor continues to speak as the testicles fall, and while one of the female anchors gasps, the other two take a minute to grasp what is happening.
She gasps again and places her hands on the desk while the male anchor continues to speak – and then the broadcast resumes with no mention of the blunder.
Arrested Development, which follows the escapades of the Bluth family, aired for five seasons between 2003 and 2019.

It stars Jason Bateman, Portia de Rossi, Will Arnett, Michael Cera, and Alia Shawkat.
If Arrested Development continues to deliver accurate predictions, it might become the new The Simpsons.
The cartoon’s writers accurately predicted major historical events including as Donald Trump’s presidency, the global Covid-19 outbreak, historical Cup winners, and even last year’s Titanic submersible catastrophe.
Arrested Development is available to stream on Netflix.
