Alan Sugar in scathing Apprentice teaser: ‘You don’t get furloughed, you get fired’

The new series of The Apprentice is coming to your screens after a two year hiatus but the break hasn’t toned down Lord Alan Sugar one bit.

The ruthless businessman will be on the hunt for a new employee for his business, sifting through the arrogant and useless to find the person least likely to let him down.

A tough ask.

Lord Sugar has shared the first, quite sinister trailer for the series in which he is seen to proclaim that ‘no-one gets furloughed, they get fired.’

Too soon, Alan mate.

The bizarre video depicts Sugar and his advisers as cyborgs being awakened from their dormant stage.

Brought to life in a lab, references are made to black cabs and wheeled suitcases being activated because banter.

In the most troublesome scene, Sugar’s firing finger is seen unfurling with quite a strain before he fires a laser out of it and has to blow the smoke away.

Oh, look out lads (Picture: BBC)

Not furloughed or fired, are the hopeful entrepreneurs going to be blasted into smithereens?

The date of the series is Thursday January 6 and what better way to start the new year than seeing the employment dreams of strangers brutally crushed in a boardroom?

In another tweet, Lord Sugar declared that his BS Filter is ON. Considering how much time he spends on Twitter, he will have had a bad time if it was ever turned off.

Meanwhile, Sugar’s old adversary Piers Morgan was less than impressed with the notion of the returning series.

He quipped on the social media platform: ‘Oh no… I thought one of the few benefits of this pandemic was that we’d never have to see this – or him – on TV again…’

Well you don’t HAVE to Piers, remotes do exist.

The Apprentice is back on BBC One at 9pm on Thursday January 6.
