Alex Jones delighted The One Show viewers on Wednesday after her return from maternity leave was announced on the show.

It was confirmed that the presenter will be coming back to present with Harry Judd tomorrow night, when she’ll be revealing what The One Show will be doing for Children in Need this year.

The host welcomed her daughter Annie on August 21, and she’s been taking a well earned break since then to look after her third child with husband Charlie Thomson.

Alex, who has hosted the programme since 2010, headed on maternity leave from the BBC’s magazine programme earlier this year – and fans will be very excited to see her back.

While she hasn’t presented the show for some time, viewers were delighted to see presenter Alex Jones return for ‘one day only’ in September to make a special announcement.

However, she made a cameo appearance to update viewers on how she was doing, before talking about the show’s Chelsea Flower Show announcement.

It wasn’t the first surprise appearance she made on The One Show following the birth of her baby either, after announcing her daughter’s name on air.

Returning via video call on a previous episode, Alex revealed when asked if she’s chosen a name: ‘Yes we have, her name is Annie.’

Alex recently opened up about a ‘trying’ day with her sons following the recent arrival of her new baby girl.

On Instagram Alex posted a stunning photo of a sunlit afternoon Pembroke Lodge where she had been spending time with Charlie and their kids.

She accompanied the picture with the message: ‘Today has been a bit trying. Both boys are so tired, Ted after his first full week of school and little Kit because he hasn’t slept one night through since Annie arrived and patience is at an all time low but getting out and being lucky enough to be able to drink in this view is a real reset. [sic]’

The One Show airs on weekdays at 7pm on BBC One.
