Madame Tussauds has chosen Alison Hammond to become a waxwork.
Alison, 48, has been on our screens for over two decades after initially becoming famous as a Big Brother competitor in 2002.
That same year, she joined This Morning as a presenter and later signed up for I’m A Celebrity…Strictly Come Dancing and Celebrity MasterChef followed Get Me Out of Here in 2010.
She was also named the new co-host of The Great British Bake Off.
Despite her enormous success, the presenter was taken aback when she learned she would be joining the line-up of iconic faces at Madame Tussauds.
During Friday’s broadcast of This Morning, which was hosted on the Coronation Street set in Manchester to commemorate King Charles’ coronation this weekend, Alison and co-host Dermot O’Leary spoke with Kyle Woodcock, senior attractions manager at Madame Tussauds Blackpool.
After discussing the king’s figure, which fans can see at the museum, Alison was informed that she would be joining Charles.
Dermot then asked Kyle about some news he wanted to offer after explaining how the Blackpool museum was more focused on highlighting local talents.
‘I hear there has been some sort of recent poll. I don’t want to brag but…go on,’ Dermot said.
Kyle then said that they wanted to reflect everyone who loves and visits Blackpool.
‘We polled our audience on who should be next…Alison. You’ve come to the top of the poll,’ he said.
Clearly having no clue what was being dropped on her, Alison then said: ‘To what? Be a waxwork?’
‘You are having a laugh.’
But quickly coming around to the idea she said she was ‘up for it’.
‘Thank you,’ she said.
As the segment came to an end Alison also yelled out: ‘I can’t believe this. I’m going to be a waxwork!’
However, since Kyle stated that it was a nine-month process, it may be some time before we see the work.
Alison will be asked to sit for the piece for four or five hours before 25 people begin work over the period of roughly a year.
Each figurine takes around 800 hours to create.
The broadcaster has lately had a few run-ins with the royals, spending time with Prince William and Kate Middleton.
Alison met the future king and queen of the kingdom last week, playing darts with them and even invited them to her house for supper.
This Morning airs weekdays from 10am on ITV.
