Alison Hammond makes cheeky joke over Phillip Schofield’s sexuality on This Morning: ‘I’m not the only fairy’

Alison Hammond made a cheeky quip about Phillip Schofield’s sexuality during the This Morning panto episode.

The 58-year-old revealed he is gay in an emotional interview earlier this year, after 27-years of marriage with wife Stephanie Lowe.

In today’s instalment of the ITV show, Fairy Godmother Alison appeared to joke about this while helping the hosts get into costume.

Holly Willoughby was thrilled as she transformed into Cinderella for the skit, explaining: ‘I genuinely don’t think I’ve ever been this happy in my life.

‘Thank you Fairy Godmother, this is everything I could possibly have dreamed of, but hold on… Wait a minute, I’m missing a shoe.’

After Alison suggested they start looking for it around the studio, she wondered if they should check the fashion cupboard.

Which makes sense, as it’s a shoe they’re looking for.

It was then the Fairy Godmother quipped: ‘I’m not the only fairy on this show, you know.’

The camera panned to Phil, dressed as Buttons, who offered a mock-shock look to viewers.

Fans at home were left in hysterics over the cheeky moment, flocking to Twitter to discuss the scenes.

A viewer commented: ‘That was the funniest thing I’ve seen on tv for so long!! @Schofe is a great sport.’

Another agreed: ‘LOL at the @thismorning panto when @AlisonHammond declared that she wasn’t the only fairy on the show and the camera immediately went close up on @Schofe #ThisMorning #thismorningpanto.’

‘“I’m not the only fairy on this show, you know!” *cut to Phillip Schofield narrowing his eyes.* Genius. #ThisMorning,’ a Twitter user said.

One replied: ‘“I’m not the only fairy in this show” Cuts to Schofield. That’s going to upset the usuals I bet #ThisMorning.’

As a follower commented: ‘#ThisMorning Alison: “I’m not the only fairy on this show you know”…camera cuts to Phil hahaha.’

Phil has revealed how his family dynamic has changed since he came out as gay, stating that it’s all a ‘work in progress’.

Following his coming out, the Dancing On Ice host has been supported by Steph, as well as their daughters Molly and Ruby.

Speaking on a BBC Radio 5 Live interview, he insisted: ‘We love each other massively.

‘We are a loving family, that hasn’t changed… it’s us four but different.

‘We are a work in progress. I’ve been very honest about all of this and there’s no question, we have to pick our way through this daily as a family.

‘And that’s what we are doing. We are making our way through very unusual and unexpected waters.’

This Morning continues on weekdays, at 10am, on ITV.
