Piers Morgan really riled up Andi Peters who kicked the presenter’s book across the room as they clashed on Good Morning Britain.
Competition host Andi simply tried to congratulate Piers on landing the cover of GQ magazine’s coveted men of the year issue.
Presenting the segment from his shed via video link, Andi read out a paragraph from Piers’ memoir which said: ‘It has to be said, Andi Peters is actually one of my favourite people. I admire him for his countless awards, generosity and everything he does for society.
‘I never tell him that on television.’
Piers interrupted: ‘I am actually very nice about you in that book so the words you’re looking for are “thank you, Piers”.’
Susanna Reid then said: ‘One of the great marks of a good winner is to be gracious when you’re winning.’
The subject then turned to Andi’s personal accolades as Piers asked: ‘Any trophies in your cabinet?’
‘Loads, hello! Smash Hits poll winners party, top TV presenter for three consecutive years,’ Andi replied.
When Piers cheekily asked: ‘What year was that? What century? What millennium?,’ Andi hit back: ‘That’s irrelevant, it happened – I was 20-something.’
He added: ‘You’re so rude! It was literally last millenium.’
Andi, 50, then picked up Piers’ book and kicked it across the room joking: ‘Don’t need that anymore.’
Piers said: ‘You can kick it all you like, all you’re doing is making it a bigger bestseller.’
Still not over pushing Andi over his achievements, Piers pressed once again: ‘Is it true that the last award you won was in the last millennium?’
The presenters then suffered an awkward moment of silence as Andi refused to answer before continuing with his segment.
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.
