Anne-Marie offends Bucks Fizz singer with Botox dig in Never Mind The Buzzcocks line-up challenge

Anne-Marie manages to butt heads with a member of Bucks Fizz in tonight’s inaugural episode of Never Mind The Buzzcocks.

The beloved music-panel show is returning to television screens this evening after nearly seven years away with Greg Davies serving as host alongside team captains Noel Fielding and Daisy May Cooper.

Comedian Jamali Maddix will make his debut as a regular guest, with Nish Kumar and Little Mix’s Jade Thirlwall also on the bill.

An exclusive preview shared with teases the new series will be just as tense as its predecessor, keeping us hopeful that we’ll soon see tantrums and walk-outs.

In the clip, Greg challenges the contestants to identify one person in a line-up who is not an original member of Bucks Fizz.

‘What’s your gut instinct, Anne Marie?’ he asks the 30-year-old Therapy singer.

‘I don’t think it’s number two because he’s taller,’ she replies. ‘Just because when you’re on stage, you know about height…’

‘Number four is angry at everything we’re saying,’ Jamali announces, prompting Anne-Marie to quip: ‘I can’t tell if he’s angry. I think he’s had a lot of Botox.’

The man in question, Bucks Fizz’s Mike Nolan, blurts back: ‘Me? I’ve had what?’

Luckily Greg is on hand to diffuse the tension, or rather encourage it.

‘If Anne Marie had a fight with a potential member of Bucks Fizz it would be the happiest moment of my life,’ he comments.

Bucks Fizz is an 80s pop group, comprised of Mike, Bobby G, Cheryl Baker, and Jay Aston.

Jay quit the group in 1985 and was replaced by Shelley Preston. Today, just Cheryl, Mike, and Jay remain and they are better known as The Fizz.

Tonight’s episode of Never Mind The Buzzcocks comes seven years after the BBC announced it had decided not to re-commission the show in order to ‘create space for new entertainment formats’.

After many years of pleas for its return from fans, Sky and NOW stepped up to get it back on the air.

Fans will be treated to eight episodes and a Christmas special all in all. What a treat.

Never Mind The Buzzcocks returns tonight 9pm on Sky Max.
