Ant Middleton is back in the UK just weeks after announcing he’s relocating to Australia following his SAS: Who Dares Wins axe.
The former SBS officer, who was dropped by Channel 4 but continues to front the Australian version of the reality series, shared that he has returned home to help with the school run – and he’s doing so with a big smile on his face.
‘Straight home, straight into the school run…’ Ant penned on Instagram alongside a photo of him with two of his children wrapped in his arms. ‘Now the school run is a hugely important part of the day and it’s absolutely crucial that it’s done with a smile on your face.
‘Positivity is contagious and for that hour of the day set not only yourself up to be in a positive headspace but more importantly set your children up to start the day off with a positive mindset! ‘
He advised: ‘Make a concerted effort to be positive first thing in the morning and then over time watch it become the norm… Happy to be home with my family.’
Ant’s post comes just a matter of weeks after he shared that he’ll soon be moving halfway across the world.
‘I feel like I fit in here,’ he said of Australia on the James Smith podcast. ‘That’s very strange being the person that I am. I don’t know whether the UK is a bit pretentious for me, a bit too PC for me, where I can’t be myself.
‘I have to suppress a part of me to fit in, which I don’t like doing and I won’t do as you’ve probably seen but here you’ve got that balance that right.
‘I’ve got a great connection with Australia. My wife also loves Australia. She did a gap year out here when she was young. She’s always said, “Let’s move to Australia”, So when SAS Australia came up, I was like, “Let’s see the layout, let’s see how it goes”.
‘We’ve sort of made a decision to move out here next year.’
Channel 4 confirmed Ant’s departure from SAS: Who Dares Wins in March with the current series – filmed before his exit – currently airing still featuring the 40-year-old.
At the time, a spokesperson for the broadcaster told Channel 4: ‘Following a number of discussions, Channel 4 and Minnow Films have had with him in relation to his personal conduct it has become clear that our views and values are not aligned and we will not be working with him again.’
SAS: Who Dares Wins airs Sundays at 9pm on Channel 4.
