Ashley Walters thought people died filming ‘crazy’ stunts for Bulletproof: South Africa

Bulletproof: South Africa is so next level that Ashley Walters was convinced members of the cast and crew had lost their lives while filming stunt scenes.

The three-part special, which arrives next week, sees Walters and Noel Clarke reprise their roles Pike and Bishop as they find themselves caught up in a frightening kidnap of a young girl while on holiday.

Speaking to, Ashley teased the stunts in the forthcoming new series were so realistic that he was worried people had actually died during the shoot.

‘There are some huge stunt sequences in this where we thought people may have lost their lives if I’m honest because it was absolutely crazy,’ he recalled.

‘The stunts were really, really professional and amazing.’

‘The stunt guys over there, no offence to them, are crazy,’ he added. ‘They would do crazy things. We’d use a lot of CGI in the UK and a lot of post-production where we add things in gunshots, or whatever.

‘Over there, it’s actually happening. Things are going off next to your head.’

Bulletproof: South Africa will see police duo Bishop and Pike implicated in a grisly murder, leaving their jobs, lives and families hanging in the balance.

‘The pair must use every ounce of skill and tenacity to bring down the most untouchable villain they’ve ever faced,’ the synopsis teases.

Bulletproof: South Africa launches on Wednesday at 9pm on Sky One.
