Jason Tartick has spoken out following the announcement of his divorce from Kaitlyn Bristowe, admitting his grief.
The former pair, who competed on different seasons of The Bachelorette, acknowledged on Sunday that they had called it quits after four years of dating.
After disclosing that they had split up, the banker, 34, posted a series of images on his Instagram account reminiscing about their time together.
Across a series of posts, he wrote: ‘Thank you for the support and love over the years. I will forever be grateful for this beautiful person that was brought into my life.
‘Beyond heartbroken. Please be kind as we go through our individual journeys to heal.’
Kaitlyn, clearly upset, shared a sorrowful photo on her own page, saying that she would be taking a break from social media.
‘See you soon. Bye for now,’ the 38-year-old said. ‘If everyone can say some sort of prayer for both of our hearts we would love that.
‘I just know social media can be awful so taking a little break.’
Kaitlyn originally came to public attention in 2015 when she went on The Bachelor, aiming to impress Chris Soules.
She went on to become the Bachelorette in season 11 and ended the show with Shawn Booth – but it wasn’t to be, as they dissolved their relationship in 2018.
Three years later, in season 14, Jason competed on The Bachelorette, but Becca Kufrin chose Garrett Yrigoyen.
He met Kaitlyn shortly after his spell and they got close, making their affair public in early 2019, before getting engaged in 2021.
They issued a joint statement on Sunday, declaring the end of their two-year engagement.
‘After sharing the news with family and close friends first, and taking the time to properly process it ourselves, we are saddened with heavy hearts to share that we have decided to end our engagement,’ the lengthy message read.

‘We are thankful for all of you who gave us the time and space to process this life altering decision as there are many emotions and changes to navigate.
‘Our dogs Ramen & Pinot will continue to be cared for together as brothers. While their humans are no longer romantically involved, we will love and take care of them together.’
They added: ‘Continuing our friendship is incredibly important to both of us. We feel grateful to be ending our engagement with love and respect for each other. It’s heartbreaking and sad to say goodbye, but our care and admiration for one another will never die.
‘We are beyond thankful for the memories made together, and for your support of us and the boys throughout the years. Moving forward we will always have that level of support for each other. We don’t know what the future holds so please try to hold space for us in your hearts.’
