The Bachelorette continued to be the Clare Crawley and Dale Moss show as the pair continued to get even closer in the second episode of the series.
But the last night’s episode was still full of some surprises as Clare gave Brandon Goss the boot from the show, even though there wasn’t a rose ceremony.
After enjoying two group dates with her suitors, Clare had a one-on-one chat with Brandon to find out why he chose to come on her season.
However the chat went south when Brandon failed to come up with reason other than her physical appearance.
Brandon stated: ‘First of all, you’re obviously absolutely gorgeous. But other than that, to be honest, I don’t really know anything about you. I know you’re from Sacramento.
Clare was clearly shocked by his reponse as she asked: ‘So you don’t know anything about me?’
Brandon tried to fix his mistake as he replied: ‘I obviously don’t know you on a personal level, I don’t know your history. You’re just so beautiful and I wanted to get to know you.’
As Clare continued to press, he admitted that he didn’t have a ‘specific answer’ for her as he continued: ‘Can we just not talk about that?’
In the end, Clare decided she had a better connection with the other contestants and ‘no longer wanted to pursue’ things with Brandon.
The hairstylist walked a stunned Brandon out to a waiting minivan and revealed to the rest of the group that Brandon had been sent home.
Meanwhile, Clare and Dale got closer after a handsy moment in the group date.
The 39-year-old admitted to the former NFL player: ‘You scare me because of how I already feel about you, and I want you to know how much, even this early on, I totally have feelings for you.’
And Dale insisted the feeling was mutual as he replied: ‘I feel the same way. I’m not going to lie. And I wouldn’t say the things that I say if I didn’t mean them. To say I have strong feelings for you, hell yeah. There’s no denying it. And I’m not like, going to shy away from it or anything.’
He then admitted in a confessional: ‘Clare is someone I can see myself falling in love with. She knows I have feelings for her, and I know she has feelings for me. And I want her to know there’s no more time you need to waste with anyone else, because I got you.’
The Bachelorette airs Tuesdays on ABC, while it streams in hayu in the UK.
