Great British Bake Off fans couldn’t cope as Peter Sawkins won the 2020 series.
The 20-year-old was crowned Bake Off champion in a tense final, beating Dave Friday and Laura Adlington to the title.
He has impressed judges Prue Leith and Paul Hollywood throughout the competition, and the finale was no different, whipping up excellent treats in the signature, technical and showstopper challenges.
‘I can’t quite believe that I’m here,’ he told the camera.
‘I can’t quite believe I made it on the show, I can’t quite believe the show happened.
‘This is going to be a really huge chapter of my life.’
With the honour, Peter became the youngest ever winner of the show, and the first Scot to take the victory.
Not too shabby, eh?
Viewers watching on from home were left emotional at the scenes, and rushed to Twitter to share their thoughts.
Some were left in tears at Peter’s win, with one penning: ‘Can’t believe I’m crying! The purest winner ever! Well done Peter!! #GBBO #GBBOFinal.
