This week in the Bake Off tent, the contestants will be pushed to their limits in pastry week – let’s hope they don’t flake.
Week five marks the halfway point in this year’s competition.
The judges said goodbye to Sura last week after baking bland brownies, coming seventh in the babka Technical Challenge, and delivering a Showstopper which stopped the show for all the wrong reasons.
As the bake off finale draws closer, we take a look at who is left in the tent.
Which contestants are left on Bake Off?
We have already had to say goodbye to some wonderful bakers this year.
Loriea left in week one after she blew her bubblegum cake.
Mak’s biscuits failed to snap, seeing him eliminated in week two.
Rowan was full of promise but always failed to deliver, meaning he was kicked out in week three.
And Sura was eliminated in week four when she proved she was not a chocoholic.
However, eight bakers are still competing for a spot in the finale.
Dave, who was star baker in week two remains in the competition.
It’s all adding up for Accountant Hermine, as she remains in the tent.
Musical theatre-lover Laura is defying gravity as she fights to stay another day.
Retiree Linda won the nation’s hearts, and remains in the contest.
Pantomime producer Lottie is still in the runnings (oh, yes she is!).
Resin-sculptor Marc remains in the show, proving that nothing is impossible.
Mark, who won star baker last week, will try his hardest to defend his title.
Peter, the youngest contestant this year (and winner of star baker in week one), remains in the competition.
When does Bake Off end?
Series 11 is expected to run for 10 weeks, meaning that the finale will be on Tuesday, November 24.
The current series has longer episodes than usual, running for an hour and a half.
The Great British Bake Off continues tonight on Channel 4 at 8pm.
