Bake Off: The Professionals contestant Lineker Coelho has revealed he was named after Gary Lineker, and the former footballer feels sorry for him.
The baking show has kicked off once more, as the best patisserie chefs in the country battle for the crown.
Judges Benoit Blin and Cherish Finden have the tough job of judging the yummy creations the professionals whip up in the kitchen and offering up their honest opinions.
Great British Bake Off alum Liam Charles and comedian Tom Allen reprised their roles as hosts of the chaos.
Brothers Lerrick and Lineker, representing the Sofitel London St James, have been showing us all what they’re made of.
During last night’s episode, Lineker revealed where his unique name comes from.

‘I’m named after the football player of England,’ he said.
‘My dad was a big fan of Gary Lineker.’
While Tom said he thought it was ‘lovely’, the famous footballer himself doesn’t quite agree.
Retweeting the video from the British Bake Off Twitter account Gary said: ‘Poor lad, I’m sure he’ll get it over it.’
The pastry chef brothers hail from Goa and draw on flavours and techniques from their rich culture.
Lineker was inspired to bake by his older brother, and after studying and working in Goa, he decided to go to London in 2017 to further his patisserie career.
Team captain Lerrick began his patisserie career in 2013 at the Oberoi in Mumbai, and in 2019 he moved to London to join his younger brother.
The professional chefs’ fancy kitchen is a set built from scratch in the converted stables of upscale stately mansion Firle Place in Lewes, near Brighton.
The house, which has been owned by the Viscounts Gage since the 15th century, has design inspired by a French chateau and features an impressive collection of artworks, including paintings by Van Dyck and Gainsborough.
The stables are specially insulated and temperature-controlled every year to stop any baking disasters.
Bake Off: The Professionals airs on C4 at 8pm on Tuesday nights. You can catch up with the series so far on All4.
