Balamory star Andrew Agnew, who played PC Plum, has been getting nostalgic about his time on iconic kids’ TV show Balamory.
Set in beautiful Tobermory, Mull, in Scotland, the show featured colourful characters who each had a distinctive colour which matched the colour of their house.
The actor posted an unseen photo of the cast during their first day of filming outside vibrantly painted restaurant The Mishnish.
The 45-year-old had his arms around Julie Wilson Nimmo (Miss Hoolie), Juliet Cadzow (Edie McCredie), Miles Jupp (Archive The Inventor), Rodd Christensen (Spencer The Painter Kim Tserkezie (Penny Pocket) and the late Mary Riggans (Suzie Sweet).
The photo also includes actress turned fashion designer Buki Akib, who played Josie Jump in the early series of the show, and was later replaced by Kasia Haddad.
The caption on the throwback snap was: ‘Were we ever that young? This is the #Balamory gang outside the The Mish Nish in #Tobermory during our first visit, while filming in 2002. So great to see us all together out of costume. Always smiling #pcplum. I’m sure we went straight into that pub after this photo was taken’ signing off with a laughing emoji.’
Andrew’s blast of nostalgia on Twitter came just days after his co-star Kim Tserkezie, who played Penny Pocket, hint at a future reunion.
She told Chronicle Live: ‘We don’t see each other as much as we would like because we are all dotted around the country and in the States but we have always stayed in touch.
‘I have been speaking to Juliet Cadzow, who plays Edie McCredie, and she was saying, “why don’t we have a reunion and all come to Newcastle?” Can you imagine how much fun that would be bringing everyone to Newcastle? I am totally up for that.’
To celebrate the 20th anniversary of the live-action show, BBC iPlayer made all episodes available to stream on August 30. Let’s hope there might be more to come.
