Barack Obama has revealed his favourite TV shows of 2020 – and he’s definitely got good taste.
The former president shared his annual list of favourites, including books, films and TV shows, pointing out that they’ve been especially important to keep us all busy this year.
He wrote: ‘Like everyone else, we were stuck inside a lot this year, and with streaming further blurring the lines between theatrical movies and television features, I’ve expanded the list to include visual storytelling that I’ve enjoyed this year, regardless of format.’
Clearly a Netflix fan, the 59-year-old kicked off the list of with Breaking Bad spin-off Better Call Saul and The Queen’s Gambit.
Michaela Coel’s I May Destroy You, superhero series The Boys, and The Good Lord Bird also made the list, along with Devs, and The Last Dance.
Finishing up his favourites are Mrs America, The Good Place, and City So Real.
An excellent collection if ever we saw one!
Alongside TV shows, Mr Obama listed his favourite movies of the year, starting with Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom, which stars the late Chadwick Boseman alongside Viola Davis.
Nomadland from director Chloe Zhao also made the list, alongside the likes of Martin Eden, Mank, and Disney’s Soul.
Actors who starred in the former president’s favourite picks have been a little unable to keep their cool, with the cast of The Boys sharing their excitement.
The news has gone down a treat with the cast and crew from the show, with creator Eric Kripke sharing his delight on Twitter. ‘Ummm. You guys? HOLY. S**T,’ he wrote.
‘Thanks for watching, @BarackObama. If you ever wanna hang out, hit me up in my DM’s. (But seriously, this is amazing, THANKS for the shout out).’
Jack Quaid added: ‘I was today years old when I found out president @BarackObama watches @TheBoysTV. Can I stay this age forever?’
