BBC Breakfast star Louise Minchin still hasn’t taken her Christmas tree down – a month after the big day.
The presenter, 52, lifted the lid on her decorations, revealing that it was still adorned with lights and tinsel.
Fair play to her.
Co-host Dan Walker dropped her in it on this morning’s instalment, when he began: ‘Do you know what happened yesterday, Louise? I went out on an essential shop, and someone hollered at me from across supermarket.
‘“[They] said, “Will you ask Louise if she’s still got her Christmas tree up?”’
‘I took a picture only yesterday,’ Louise replied. ‘And I’m really delighted because I went on an essential shop and I noticed somebody still had their wreath up, which I took a picture of too.
‘So it’s still there. I’m not alone.’
Dan was in shock at her admission, explaining to viewers that her tree was a real one.
‘Honestly I think what’s happened to it, is it sort of like petrified – of me, probably,’ Louise joked.
‘It’s not dropping any needles or anything, so I’ll send you a picture tomorrow. I’m not sure when it’s going to end.
‘I turn the lights on still every night. I know I’m not alone, I saw a wreath yesterday.
‘And it’s going to stay.’
Anyone else tempted to whack their decorations back up?
The presenter was recently forced to take some time away from the Breakfast sofa at the end of last year after injuring her leg.
She suffered a painful injury in 2019, when she tripped while training for the Norseman triathlon.
However, despite being in pain, she pushed on with her training and eventually completed the triathlon – and took on even more athletic trials before eventually seeking medical help.
Doctors then confirmed that she had broken a bone in her foot, and snapped an ankle ligament.
Louise underwent an operation to reconstruct her ligament, and is still recovering from the surgery.
BBC Breakfast continues daily, at 6am, on BBC.
