GB News presenter Inaya Folarin Iman was called ‘Kemi’ more than once by presenter Alex Forsyth on Tuesday’s Politics Live.
Inaya joined GB News last year, and is the channel’s Culture and Social Affairs Editor.
She hosts a weekly culture and politics show, The Discussion, which airs every Sunday.
In addition, she regularly appears elsewhere as a commentator, and on Thursday, joined the panel of Politics Live.
She sat alongside Conservative MP Jake Berry, Baroness Kennedy, author Paris Lees, who were all probed by the host.
However, things became heated at various moments, particularly between Paris and Inaya, with the pair repeatedly talking over each other.

This led Alex to interject, telling them: ‘We need to have one at a time otherwise we can’t hear either of you.
‘Kemi, make your point,’ she added.

Later on in the pair’s discussion, the presenter interjected again when they were discussing the Gender Recognition Act.
She weighed in: ‘I’m sorry to rush you both, but we’ve got a lot to get through here

‘Please, one at a time, briefly, Kemi, and then I do want to move on.’
Some of those tuning in also picked up on the blunder, and noted Baroness Kennedy also made an error when speaking to Inaya.
One wrote on Twitter: ‘Is it that difficult to get @InayaFolarin ‘s name right, I heard “Kemi”, I heard “Aya”.
‘African names are not difficult to pronounce in fact most are phonetically perfect #PoliticsLive.’
‘Inaya Folarin Iman has just been called ‘Kemi’ on #PoliticsLive, after repeatedly being called ‘Aya’ by Baroness Kennedy,’ said someone else.
Another commented in response: ‘I heard this too. 🤬 Her name is Inaya. @InayaFolarin #PoliticsLive.’
Alex is currently standing in for regular presenter, Jo Coburn.
BBC Politics Live airs weekdays from 12.15pm on BBC One.
