The BBC Look North newsreader struggled to keep his composure as he went into a report about a Glory Hole Walkway.
Peter Levy, a seasoned broadcaster, couldn’t help but grin as ‘holes’ became yet another blush-worthy moment on the regional news show.
This time, the 68-year-old host encountered a ‘awkward juncture’ after announcing his new cheeky TV show and addressing a badly named walkway.
‘I’ve also got some PR for you, aren’t you on Channel 5 on Sunday night?’ asked Keeley Donovan as she wrapped up her weather segment.
Peter, already ashamed, attempted to ignore her urging when she asked for the name of the programme.
‘No, I can’t tell you the name of the show,’ he laughed back before Keeley doubled down and said: ‘Am I allowed to tell you the name of the show?’
‘Oh whatever go on, quickly,’ the BBC Radio Humberside presenter rolled his eyes as she asked: ‘Am I going to get sacked? When Sex on TV Goes Wrong.’
Peter laughed, coughing, as Keeley said that she hoped her ‘parents aren’t watching’.
He gave out a loud giggle as he went light crimson, joking that the entire squad will be fired as a ‘job lot’ for their antics this week.
After calming down significantly, the duo waved farewell, and Peter turned to finish the programme, only to be confronted with another difficult situation.
‘Oh no, oh dear, awkward junction,’ the anchor exclaimed before beginning: ‘Now, the famous Glory Hole Walkway in Lincoln has reopened.’
Still laughing, he told Peter that the trail had been blocked for almost a year due to being ‘deemed hazardous’, which elicited another snicker from him.
Finally reaching the conclusion of the piece, he passed to the reporter in Lincoln and hoped for a minute to collect himself.
‘Absolutely lost it after he said the words “Awkward junction”,’ wrote Scott Bryan on X as he shared the clip.
Scott included another tape of Peter announcing the closure of the Glory Hole Walkway, which had the seasoned announcer chuckling throughout.
‘Just when you thought it couldn’t get more awkward lol,’ added Jonathon Bryce as Ben Saunders said: ‘Slapping his own thigh here is pure GOLD!’
‘BBC Look North stays winning,’ shared Jasper Smith while Diana praised: ‘Peter Levy was the only reason I watched local news as a child.’
Just months previously, the radio host had missed a critical phrase when addressing massive potholes on the news and instead asked everyone on their ‘holes’.
‘We’re already being contacted by viewers watching the programme but we want to know how bad it is where you are,’ he began.
Peter then asked the viewers: ‘How big is your hole?’
When Sex On TV Goes Horribly Wrong will air on Channel 5 on Sunday, April 7, at 10pm.
