BBC One suffered a major technical issue this evening and was pulled off air for more than 10 minutes.
The flagship channel was meant to start airing Panorama at 7.35pm but was forced to push it back for at least 15 minutes as an error was fixed.
As a result, a red screen was shown telling viewers: ‘We are sorry for the break in this programme and are trying to correct the fault.’
The voiceover repeatedly apologise over the course of the waiting period, telling viewers: ‘We are working very hard to get our programmes back on air, and when we can, we’ll have something for you to watch.’
In another moment, they added: ‘Thanks for bearing with us here on BBC One we are working very hard to get our programmes back on air and as soon we can, we’ll have something for you to watch.’
Garden Rescue was then announced as the replacement programme, before it was corrected back to Panorama.
The Panorama episode Can Biden Unite America? briefly started airing at around 7.45pm, but sound issues meant it was stopped again.
The show eventually aired as planned at around 7.50pm.
