Joel Dommett, Nicola Adams and Ryan Thomas are reportedly heading into the fast lane with new BBC Three motoring show Gassed Up.

Comedian Joel, known for presenting The Masked Dancer, are thought to be joining the professional boxer and former Coronation Street star in appearing on the programme next year.

The show will see guests take part in driving challenges and is being pitched as a ‘funnier, younger brother’ to BBC show Top Gear, The Sun reports.

Rapper Mist, real name Rhys Sylvester, being lined up to host the show.

Filming is set to take place later this year, with the programme arriving in 2022.

A source said: ‘They’ve managed to get together a decent starting line-up. So far Ryan, Nicola and Joel have all filmed challenges and the results have been really funny.

‘All of them were really brave and up for everything. There are a few more stars yet to sign on the dotted line but it’s hoped filming will be completed by October.’

Host Mist is described as a ‘car obsessive’. The musician has released the EPs, M I S to the T and Diamond in the Dirt, and has collaborated with the likes of MoStack, Nines, and Not3s.

It comes following reports that Simon Cowell is said to be developing a new car show set to rival BBC’s Top Gear.

After it was announced X Factor has been axed, it’s been reported the 61-year-old music mogul is working on the format and eyeing up potential talent to take part.

‘Simon has always been a huge car lover – and a car show is always something he has been interested in doing,’ an insider said.

‘He was famously a guest driver on Top Gear and loves talking cars. He has been approached by a number of well-known car experts and racing drivers wanting to partner with him over the years.’
