Beat The Chasers viewers convinced they’ve discovered how to ‘rig’ the game to let contestants win

Viewers of Beat The Chasers think they have discovered a loophole to make it easier for contestants to win against the Chasers after watching the new series.

The show sees amateur quizzers answer a series of questions in the cash builder phase before being offered higher amounts by the Chasers depending how many of them they take on and how much the time difference between them is.

The contestant must get at least one question right to get through to this stage, where they can take on two Chasers for the amount they won in the first round, or three, four, or all five Chasers for a higher sum.

The Chasers – which are Anne ‘The Governess’ Hegerty, Mark ‘The Beast’ Labbett, Jenny ‘The Vixen’ Ryan, Paul ‘The Sinnerman’ Sinha and Shaun ‘The Dark Destroyer’ Wallace – also determine how much the time difference between them and the contestant – who gets 60 seconds on the clock – is, with there being fewer seconds between them for the highest amounts.

Viewers of this series have been left raging after brilliant contestants were left missing out on winning while less strong quizzers have been walking away with large amounts of cash.

However, they think they have worked out a way for contestants to ensure they have the best shot at getting the money – by playing dumb in the first round and only getting one question right, to entice the Chasers to give them high offers with the most generous time differences as they assume they’re not a strong enough player to beat them.

Viewers took to Twitter to share their ‘hack’ for the game, tweeting: ‘Seems the easiest way to Beat The Chasers is to come on act daft get one right and bingo you get great offers with huge time difference’.

Others added: ‘Thing with #BeatTheChasers tho, if you play it dumb by simply getting 1k at the start, chaser’s will offer you good money with a bigger time difference. Surely that’s the way to go!’

Another pointed out: ‘Surely it pays to go on act dumb get the first 1 in the bag, then get the next question wrong to get better offers. There is no incentive to get the questions correct after the 1st one.’

It looks like they might be onto something there…

Beat The Chasers airs weeknights from 9pm on ITV.
