Luke Jones, the star of Below Deck Down Under, has gone dark on social media after being dismissed for entering an unconscious colleague’s bed while nude.
In the most recent episode of the reality show, bosun Luke was sacked when producers and crew members intervened after he climbed into steward Margot Sisson’s berth and momentarily locked himself in her bedroom after she went to sleep.
The event was then retold to captain Jason Chambers, who quickly dismissed Luke when producers and several crew members intervened to urge him to leave.
After the show aired, the former crew member made his Instagram account private.
Prior to that, Luke is said to have been uploading posts from Dubai, where he is currently thought to be stationed after being fired from his job on the Northern Sun, which was cruising around Cairns in Far North Queensland.
Luke also published a mysterious Instagram post regarding ‘opinions’ and ‘perspectives’ the day before the episode in which he was fired aired.
‘It doesn’t Matter what they think about you because you don’t Care,’ he captioned the post, as reported by ScreenRant.
‘Everything we Hear is an Opinion, Not a Fact. Everything we see is a Perspective. Not the Truth.
‘Take Ownership and move forward.’
The day after the episode aired, Luke also posted a photo of the Northern Sun superyacht and captioned it: ‘Self Improvement 1.5 Years On.’
Luke confirmed his involvement in the series last month, hinting to the imminent drama that fans were about to witness on television.
‘WATCH OUTTTTTT CARINS, IM HERE TO GET TROPICAL !!!!’ he captioned the post.
‘Come on the emotional roller coaster that is living and working in close quarters with work colleagues and demanding charter guests. Add in some special weather conditions and you got yourself a real recipe for fun.’
According to his Instagram, Luke has founded two businesses since coming to the UAE: Madness X Go, a training class firm, and Wave Shark Dubai, a jet board company.
Margot released a lengthy message on social media after the show aired, calling the experience “eye-opening,” but thanking those who rallied around her.
She gave support and claimed they ‘weren’t alone’ in a message to others who had been in similar situations, adding that the responsibility ‘did not belong’ on their shoulders.
She said that while she understood the episode was ‘deeply triggering and incredibly difficult for many to watch’, she believed it was ‘vital’ to show as ‘this issue is all too real and far too frequent’.
Below Deck Down Under streams on in the US on Mondays, and on in the UK on the same day.
