Francesca Rubi has teased tears galore on the next episode of Below Deck.

Season eight of the boat-based reality show kicked off last week with a mostly new cast – and an intense trailer showed the newbie – aka Kate Chastain’s replacement – looking upset, while Captain Lee insisted that ‘there’s no crying in yachting’.

When asked about the breakdowns, the chief stewardess confessed to Metro.co.uk that viewers will get their answers very soon.

‘You’re going to have to wait for the next episode,’ she told us. ‘All I can say is that I guess I’m only human, and I think that, regardless of the circumstances, I hope people can relate to that.

‘I think in the service industry, you sometimes can be perceived as a robot, you’re a server.

‘Everyone has a point. And I just let my breaking point come way too prematurely.’

Francesca was seen looking a little overwhelmed in the season premiere, as she led her new stew team – Izzy Wouters and Elizabeth Frankini – through a wavy first charter.

Speaking about her debut, she admitted that things were ‘difficult’ on board when members of her crew ‘lacked efficiency’.

‘Look, I spread myself way too thin,’ the star said of the scenes. ‘I wasn’t nervous at first, and when guests come on board, you just need to get things done.

‘It was a little bit difficult having Izzy, [she] was just a little bit lacking in her efficiency and being quick on her feet which, as a stewardess, you’ve really got to be.

‘But I did put them in their positions that they said at the start, Izzy said she wanted to be in service and Elizabeth wanted to be in housekeeping. I didn’t know them, I’m still getting to know their working relationships, so I could only trust their skill set that they say, and just go with that.

‘I’m a bit spread thin after that because I’m only one person as well, and I can only do so much.

‘I can’t do absolutely everything and I think I put too much on my plate, because of the lack of….’

As well as the drama, that teaser showed a lot of laughs, and even more flirting between the new cast.

After bosun Eddie Lucas told us that boatmances were on the horizon, fans saw that both Shane and James had taken a liking to Francesca.

However, she refused to be drawn on whether things go any further with either deck crew member, simply adding: ‘I can say that I’m a Gemini, and Geminis are natural flirts, so that’s all I’ll say on that topic.’

Which basically says it all…

All seasons and every episode of Below Deck are available on HayU, with season 8 dropping weekly.
