Below Deck viewers have finally learned more about Captain Lee Rosbach’s sudden leave of absence in season nine as the fan-favorite opened up about his recent health scare.
His replacement Captain Sean Meagher temporarily joined the cast in an attempt to keep things sailing smoothly while Captain Lee was away before the Bravo star made his triumphant return on Monday’s episode.
In the premiere episode, the Bravolebrity revealed he was dealing a ‘serious’ matter as he stated: ‘I have a condition. The whole boat is your ballgame now.’
However, he shared further detail with Eddie in Monday’s Boat Daddy episode as he said: ‘We have to have one of those serious-type conversations…
‘As First Officer, you have a fiduciary responsibility to know the actual reason I was not here. I was in the hospital.’
He then guided Eddie to look at a ‘list of issues’ that he had been dealing with, which led to his hospital stay.
‘They fixed it, and it’s amazing what they can do these days,’ Captain Lee revealed, explained that it’s an issue he has been dealing with for years.
He continued in a confessional: ‘I have a condition that I was born with called AFib, and it’s when your heart will just randomly go into an irregular heartbeat
‘They hospitalized me, and they actually burn off parts of your heart that are trouble spots.’
Thankfully, the yacht star is feeling good following his health scare and not a second too soon.
Viewers will know it didn’t take long for Captain Sean to inject his own style into life on board, with a concerned Eddie admitting that ‘alarms are ringing’ for him.
Below Deck is available to stream on hayu, with new episodes dropping on Tuesdays in the UK.
