Below Deck’s Hannah Ferrier jokes it’s ‘unfair’ that chef Rachel Hargrove joined the cast for season eight – instead of the Mediterranean spin-off show.

Rachel popped up in the kitchen for the new episodes, following in the footsteps of a long line of chefs on the franchise – including Ben Robinson and Kevin Dobson.

She has been smashing it in the galley over the last few episodes, leaving former Below Deck Med favourite Hannah very jealous of chief stewardess Francesca Rubi’s team.

Taking to Twitter, the new mum heaped praise on the newcomer, penning: ‘What I would have given to work with Rachel.

‘Seriously – I put in 4 seasons and get a chef that microwaves steaks and Francesca is a newbie and gets the best chef in the history of the Below Deck franchise…?!

‘Doesn’t seem fair… #belowdeck.’

Sliding into the replies, Rachel said: ‘Thank you!!! It would have been great to work with you as well…

‘Congratulations on your new family.’

We wonder how the chef will do under the pressure of nachos…

Hannah might be having a love-in with Rachel but the newbie recently revealed that there were some awkward moments with her co-stars on the boat-based reality show.

Teasing that things went sour in her bond with returning bosun Eddie Lucas, she told Decider: ‘It’s really bad, but I’m one of those where I just hash it out or I walk off. I don’t care. I’m one of those. Where I’m like, “Is it something personal?”

‘Something was published where he said, “I have an issue with authority.” I was like, [sigh]. I’m just going to go back and think about Cartman. Remember with Cartman, he was like, [Cartman voice] “Respect my authority!” It was really like that.

‘I was like, authority is Captain Lee: Chief Officer, Chief Engineer. That’s it. Because I’m a department head as well.’

Rachel also suggested that there were ‘growing pains’ with herself and Francesca – which we have caught a glimpse of at points already this season.

‘It is what it is. It’s growing pains,’ she added to the publication. ’It’s just working with a different dynamic, too. It is what it is.’

Below Deck is available to stream on hayu, with new season eight episodes dropping every Tuesday.
