Big Bang Theory fan completely oblivious Kunal Nayyar is right outside their hotel room

A Big Bang Theory fan was completely unaware that Kunal Nayyar was stood right outside their hotel room.

The actor, who played Raj in the beloved sitcom, was returning to his own room when he overheard someone watching an episode of the show through the walls – and he couldn’t help but document the moment.

Taking to Instagram, Kunal shared a video of himself stood outside the unsuspecting fan’s door, smiling and nodding at the camera.

Captioning the post, he wrote: ‘Was walking back to my room after a long shoot, and a guest in the hotel was watching Big Bang on full blast!

‘I should have knocked —- “knock knock it’s Raj, knock knock it’s Raj, knock knock it’s Raj” #serendipity.’

Fans were stunned by the revelation and many encouraged Kunal to surprise the fan by actually knocking on the door and introducing himself.

‘Please do it and report back! Must must do,’ pleaded one.

Echoing a similar sentiment, another penned: ‘Oh you should have! If it were me I would have been thrilled!’

‘I wish you had done it!!! And filmed their reaction!’ said a third.

Kunal is currently in London where he is filming the upcoming Apple TV thriller Suspicion, alongside Uma Thurman.

Celebrating his return to the capital, Kunal wrote in a heartwarming Instagram post: ‘Back in London. Incredibly humbled and grateful to return to shooting.

‘I never forget where this journey began, all of my achievements have been because of great sacrifices from a lot of people, as well as the unmentioned angels that gave me numerous couches to sleep on, and encouraged me to dream big.

‘Every day I’m on set, feels like the first day again. I’m a schoolboy and it’s the first day of class- “give em hell” Sending you all love.’

The Big Bang Theory is available to stream on Netflix in the UK.
