Bobby Brazier hasn’t held back when asked if he wants to go on Celebrity Big Brother.
The 20-year-old EastEnders star recently wowed when he took to the dancefloor for Strictly Come Dancing, reaching the final.
A few months later, he was asked if he would join up for another reality show, especially Big Brother, which catapulted his mother Jade Goody into the spotlight.
‘Absolutely not. I want to be an actor,’ he said.
‘Why would I do that when I’ve got EastEnders and other potential acting roles to think about?’
‘I want to be taken seriously as an actor,’ he continued to Woman Magazine, as reported by The Sun.
Bobby’s mother notably became a national name after appearing on the civilian version of the programme in 2002, before returning for the fifth season of Celebrity Big Brother in 2007, alongside her mother Jackiey Budden and boyfriend Jack Tweed.
However, her return to the house was overshadowed by controversy, as she was accused of bullying and racism alongside S Club 7 stars Jo O’Meara and Danielle Lloyd.
Earlier this year Jack warned Bobby about taking part in the show.
‘My advice would be to stay well clear. It is not worth it. Me and Jade did not have a great experience. It ended in disaster,’ he told the Daily Mail.
‘I did not feel comfortable in that experience at all. You feel very exposed. It’s constant. It feels enclosed. We met a few nice people but I would not recommend it.
‘It caused a lot of problems. If they asked me what I think having been on it myself I would say avoid it.’
Celebrity Big Brother returns this weekend for the first time in six years, and while the lineup has yet to be announced, several names have been mentioned.
Some of the reported signees include former Love Island star Ekin-Su Culculoglu, former This Morning host Fern Britton, and X Factor judges Sharon Osbourne and Louis Walsh.
The last season of Celebrity Big Brother premiered in 2018, with former Coronation Street actor Ryan Thomas winning the title.
Celebrity Big Brother returns on March 4 at 9pm on ITV1.
