Bobby Brazier’s triumph on Strictly Come Dancing has supposedly catapulted his family into stardom with a new reality TV chance.
The EastEnders star, 20, won the hearts of the nation as he and Dianne Buswell made it all the way to the final, when Ellie Leach and Vito Coppola lifted the glitterball trophy.
Bobby’s family was frequently observed crying tears of joy as they watched him dance on the ballroom floor, particularly during an emotional homage to his late mother, Jade Goody.
Bobby’s father, Jeff, who is a regular on This Morning, and his brother Freddie are set to join on the upcoming series of Celebrity Race Across the World, which previously featured Harry Judd and Alex Beresford.
A source said: ‘Being in the audience almost every week on Strictly has certainly helped to raise the profile of Jeff.
‘Bobby’s done wonders for the Brazier name and it seems producers want to get in on the action as soon as possible.’
The insider added to The Sun: ‘It’s a bit of a coup to have got on Celebrity Race Against the World, as it turned out to be one of 2023’s biggest telly hits.’
This follows claims that Bobby was being considered to host a travel programme alongside his father, with offers claimed to be pouring in for the young actor.
‘From the start of Strictly, Beeb bosses realised that they had a serious star on their hands – and the fact that he made it to the final was a complete bonus,’ a source said.
‘So, they’re incredibly keen to keep him with the Corporation, not least because Bobby is seen as a home-grown talent as he got his big TV break on EastEnders.
‘The travelogue show would be a shrewd way to tempt him to stay with the Beeb and is likely to be among the first of many projects they’ll tempt him with – many with a fat pay cheque too,’ they added when speaking to The Sun.
Dianne, Bobby’s dancing partner, was among the first to anticipate his triumph following the BBC One competition.
Speaking about the meaning of their show dance in the final to a La La Land Medley, she told Metro.co.uk and other press: ‘When I first met Bobby, he was just something really, really special and I thought, a star in the making.
‘For me, this is showing that anything is possible and it’s Bobby going to Hollywood basically and I truly believe that one day Bobby will be in Hollywood.
‘I do believe he’s going to be something massive because just knowing him and seeing his hard work, just the way he is with people, just everything about him.
‘It’s the small things for me that makes him this beautiful star and even if he doesn’t see it now I truly believe he will be something magical and this is a little journey to get him to Hollywood.
‘If I can play a small part in helping him achieve a bigger goal in the future, whenever that is, then I think it’s going to be something we’ll remember together.’
Bobby, on the other hand, isn’t so confident about his future in Hollywood, admitting that he’s not sure Hollywood is on his bucket list.
‘I don’t know, I just want to be good at what I do and that’s what’s next for me, just learning and mastering a craft,’ he said.
Jeff paid respect to his son and the hard effort he’d put into the competition ahead of the Strictly final, having shared his pride over the weeks.
Along with a series of images of Bobby during his career, Jeff stated that he wanted Bobby to “soak up every last drop” of the event.
‘One last push @bobbybrazier! I know you want this experience to carry on forever but nothing you love ever ends, it just becomes the platform from which you take the next step to add to the wonderful memories you’ve already made for yourself,’ he wrote.
‘For what it’s worth most of us could only dream of doing some of the things you’ve already packed in to the 4 years since you left school! Proud is not the word!’
He went on to say Bobby had ‘earnt the right to be there’.
Strictly Come Dancing is available to watch on BBC iPlayer.
