Boxing Day TV schedule 2020: What’s on TV tonight?

Another Christmas is over – or Christmas Day at least – and you may have had to spend it alone in tier four, or you managed to see one other household.

If you’re feeling a little down after a strange Christmas, there’s always a good line-up of TV and films that can hopefully make your next few days more enjoyable.

Here’s what’s on this Boxing Day, from some classic films to a new series of the Masked Singer…

The Story of SM:TV Live, 9:25am, ITV

You’ve got a reason to skip the Boxing Day lie-in today thanks to ITV’s special revisit to the iconic SM: TV Life.

Celebrating 30 years on TV, Ant and Dec will reunite with Cat Deeley to look back on the iconic morning show that helped solidify their careers, with memorable skits including Wonky Donkey, Challenge Ant and the parody of Friends, Chums.

Famous faces will also be popping up in this special, including Kylie Minogue.

Brave, 1:20pm, BBC One

Featuring Disney’s fiery Scottish princess, Brave tells the story of Merida. Granted one wish, Merida must rely on her bravery and her archery skills to undo a beastly curse.

Grease, 5pm, BBC One

Grease is the word today, as the classic musical starring John Travolta and Olivia Newton John as 1950s American teenage sweethearts will be the one that you want the whole family to settle down with.

The Chase Celebrity Special, 6pm, ITV

Celebrity faces including Tim Lovejoy, Kay Burley and Eni Aluko will take on the Chasers tonight, playing to win big for charity.

The Repair Shop at Christmas, 6:45pm, BBC One

The delightful show will return for a Christmas special, and there might be a few teary-eyes as one couple brings a cherished toy to be repaired that once belonged to their daughter who sadly passed away.

The Masked Singer, 7pm, ITV

The second series of the smash UK version of the international show returns tonight, hosted once again by Joel Dommett.

Rita Ora, Jonathan Ross, Davina McCall will return as judges, with Mo Gilligan joining them.

Viewers will get to see the six new masked singers and their costumes – which will be Robin, Alien, Swan, Dragon, Sausage and Badger.

The Great British Sewing Bee: Celebrity Christmas Special, 7:45pm, BBC One

Denise Van Outen, Shirley Ballas, Ranj Singh and Sara Pascoe will attempt to get crafty and stitch together a winning outfit in the Christmas special of the BBC show.

Big Fat Quiz of the Year 2020, 9:05pm, Channel 4

The tradition continues as Jimmy Carr presides over another edition of Channel 4’s annual quiz show looking back at the year.

And what a year the panel will have to reminisce on.

The panel this year include Jamas Acaster, Stacey Solomon, Maya Jama and Richard Ayoade.
