Breaking Bad’s RJ Mitte recalled the touching way Bryan Cranston reached out to him and his castmates nine years after the series finale.

From 2008 to 2013, the 29-year-old actor played Walter White’s son Walt Jr in the serial drama opposite the 66-year-old who starred as his ruthless father.

Bryan’s on-screen son RJ revealed that the Breaking Bad squad remain close after nearly ten years.

‘I just got an email from him [Bryan] the other day, checking up on everyone from Covid. We still all keep in touch,’ he said.

Mitte also revealed to LADbible that he’s especially tight with Daniel and Luis Moncada – who played cousins Leonel and Marco Salamanca on the hit series.

Bryan and Aaron Paul (Jesse Pinkman) are set to reprise their iconic roles in the spin-off series Better Call Saul, making an appearance in the sixth and final season.

Co-creator Peter Gould confirmed the news last month at PaleyFest LA, but didn’t reveal how they will be written and in what context.

‘I don’t want to spoil things for the audience, but I will say the first question we had when we started the show was, “Are we gonna see Walt and Jesse on the show?” Instead of evading, I’ll just say yeah,’ he said during an appearance at a panel.

‘How or the circumstances or anything, you’ll just have to discover that for yourself, but I have to say that’s one of many things that I think you’ll discover this season,’ he added via Variety.

Speaking earlier this week, Bob Odenkirk, aka Saul Goodman, told the outlet: ‘I personally feel that the two shows – Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul – are entwined even more than ever in the final season.

‘And I think that’s surprising and cool, and it’s gonna make you want to watch Breaking Bad again.’

Breaking Bad is available to watch on Netflix.
