Bridgerton creator teases storylines for next season as he discusses show’s future

Bridgerton is officially the most popular Netflix series of all time, and its creator has plenty more plans on how to expand the show over future seasons.

Speaking during a live streamed BFI & Radio Times TV Festival event on Wednesday, the programme’s creator Chris Van Dusen said that he ‘absolutely’ wants to expand the storylines from the original novels.

The drama is based on the works of American novelist Julia Quinn, focusing on the eight siblings of the Bridgerton family and their widowed mother.

Chris said he wants the programme to tell the stories of each of them in upcoming episodes.

‘We know there are eight Bridgerton siblings,’ he said. ‘They all have love stories, they all have amazing explorations of all those characters and I’d love to be able to do that on screen for each of them.’

Netflix recently confirmed that a second series of the show is on the way, announcing that filming of the second series will begin in the UK in spring.

An incredible 82million households have tuned in to the Regency romance series since it debuted.

Meanwhile, Bridgerton star Phoebe Dynevor has spoken about filming her masturbation scene in the Netflix series, saying it was ‘difficult to rehearse’ having an orgasm.
