Bridgerton fans have been swooning after Netflix gave them a sneak preview of the forthcoming season.
Shonda Rhimes’ beloved period drama will return in May, this time focusing on the blooming relationship between Penelope Featherington (Nicola Coughlan) and Colin Bridgerton (Luke Newton).
Ahead of the eight episodes’ debut, the streaming service has provided fans with a minute-long snippet of the pair’s encounter.
In it, Colin and Penelope are gazing each other in a drawing room, with Penelope confessing: ‘Your eyes are the most remarkable shade of blue.’
‘And yet somehow they shine even brighter when you are kind,’ she continues.
After Penelope’s admission, the two awkwardly drop eye contact, before she adds: ‘I might say something like that… if you were a suitor.’
Then, murmuring in agreement, Colin snatches a glass and anxiously downs it.
‘Well, that was uh, rather direct,’ he responds.
But before they can share any more, their exchange is cut short by the sound of voices in the background.
Fans of the story, unsurprisingly, couldn’t stop watching the two appear to flirt.
‘Their chemistry is another level. LOOK AT THE YEARNING,’ user lintangaileensalsabila8811 posted on YouTube.
‘THE CHEMISTRY IS CRAZY,’ Gossipgirl-jy4yt shared.
Alicia Giess added: ‘I. AM. FAINTING! oh my! their chemistry!!’
The third season of Bridgerton will also explore Penelope’s hidden position as Lady Whistledown, the Ton’s gossip columnist, who is on the verge of losing her cover.
Other returning actors include Jonathan Bailey and Simone Ashley, who play the newlywed Anthony and Kate Bridgerton, as well as Julie Andrews as Lady Whistledown.
However, Phoeve Dynevor, who portrayed oldest Bridgerton daughter Daphne for two seasons, will not be returning.
Bridgerton season 3 Part 1 will return on May 16, with Part 2 to follow on June 13.
